Daspletosaurus torosus

Daspletosaurus was a more massive, slower tyrannosaurid than it's contemporary predator, the Albertosaurus. It is considered by most to be the direct ancestor of Tyrannosaurus rex. The large slow moving ceratopsians were it's likely prey. The faster more agile hadrosaurs were no doubt the prey of the swifter, lighter, more fragile Albertosaurus. Daspletosaurus grew up to almost 30 feet in length.
